It's one of the police trade ins that have been floating around lately. Also shot my 4" Model 19 . I had a real tough time shooting the 40 vs the 357. Could also be because I ran double the number of rounds through the revolver. Trigger really feels different. I had a 12" pattern at about 5 yards. Gonna take some getting used to for sure! It could also be that I haven't shot in about 8 months.

Assuming you were aiming at the top bull, that's the classic low-and-left flinch/recoil-anticipation/pre-ignition-push pattern. You may just need more rounds through the gun to train your subconscious that, like the combat magnum, it can be trusted not to explode or hurt you.

It's one of the police trade ins...

Some police departments require their pistols to have a rather heavy trigger pull, so you might want to check it to see if you have one of those.

Additionally, you might get some snap caps and do some dry practice drills to help you get used to the trigger. Regular dry practice can help a lot when, as you pointed out, you haven't been able to get to a range in 8 months.

Yep I was aiming at the top and I had to laugh when I pulled that one wayyyyy down there. I've done some dry firing with the pistol and the trigger doesn't seem heavy. Especially compared to a double action pull on a revolver. Thanks guys for the pointers. I'm going to get some more trigger time on the M&P.
