I picked up the new g43 yesterday. Cabelas got a bunch in and I happened to have a $500 gift card burning a hole in my pocket. I took it out earlier today for a quick range session. Today's fodder was 80 rounds of federal aluminum cased 115gr stuff as well as a couple of mags of 124gr federal hst jhps.

The 43 ran flawlessly and was less snappy than I expected. It shot like any other glock I own except that the trigger was a bit heavier than normal. That's something that will likely lighten up after a few hundred rounds.

Accuracy was on par with other guns in its league. I shot the 43 better than my shield, likely because of my trigger time on other glocks. Recoil felt like less in my hands than the shield, but very comparable.

The only thing I want to change (other than higher capacity mags) is to add a bit of grip tape. I had to add the same thing to the shield. I don't like how polymer jumps around in my dry hands.

A pleasent surprise - the 43 fit very well in my hidden hybrid holster for my shield. That'll get me through until there are more holster options out there.

As for me, I'll make the switch to carrying the 43 after a couple hundred more rounds downrange. I simply prefer the 'glock angle' over other guns in its class. I am ok with the reduction in capacity. I'm sure some spring kits will be popping up in the next few months anyway.

Congrats! I saw the 43 at my local Cabela's last night, but the $550 price tag seemed a bit steep. Plan on giving it a little time and hopefully snap one up from Buds or grabagun.

I was impressed with how it felt in my hand compared with the 42 and others.

I Like it a lot more than the Shield and LC9.

Glock and roll....

I'm sure over the next few months, tons of Glock parts, magazines, sights, etc will be out for the sub compact 43 9x19mm.
I might get a Glock 43 but I will wait until Thanksgiving/Xmas when the end of year sales kick in & Glock's engineers or designers tweek the pistol.
I would lean towards the smaller, flat style 43 mags for concealment.
I don't have huge hands so either type compact magazine can do fine.
I carry a M&P Shield 9x19mm now and have no problems with it. I'm sure the Glock 43 9mm will be better for me since the magazine release can be quickly switched. :D
From what I know, the Glock 43 9mm will not fit the Glock 42 .380acp size holsters. Many of the sights and parts can fit either Glock model.
I'd look at the new TruGlo FTX line for the new 43 night sights.

Just being patient boys.. But a Glock 43 is in my future.

I'll pack the 26 in the winter and get a kyndex IWB for the summer.

Both use Winchester T series 127 gr JHPs.

And by the time I get it Pearce will have a +1 Mag adapter on the market.

Bud's is taking preorders for $474, if you can wait. I'm still on the fence as I just picked up a LG9S Pro, which I'm liking so far. The G43 may be redundant.

If you hadn't already thought about it, Talon grips work really well. I have them on my HK P2000sk, and have had them on other guns. I prefer the rubber versus the more abrasive ones.

My LGS just got some in today , $499.99 . I don't see one in my near future though .

That's a pretty average Glock price.

Nothing against Glock, but I think it's too little, too late with the G43 for anyone other than Glockophiles. It is far from the slimmest and lightest in the micro 9 category, and ~$500 puts it toward the upper end of the price spectrum for such critters, where it is competing against established models.

This might help in terms of capacity as I imagine that these same accessories (or ones just like them) are in the works since the G42 didn't come out that long ago.

At any rate I have a Glock 42 and while I like it okay as a backup gun (to a Glock 26) I didn't care for the 6 rd mag capacity. So I bought the Mag-Guts +1 followers and used one with a pinkie extension and on the other one I combined it with a +2 Ghost extension making that a 9 rd mag.

Even with the pinky extension it's still a two finger gun for me, but it doesn't feel like it's going anywhere and there's a stop for my ring finger.

The main carry mag has the pinkie extension (which sadly adds nothing to capacity) and the Mag-Guts follower which adds +1 rd to the 6 rd standard capacity mag. So now it's a 7+1 gun instead of a 6+1 .380 ACP.
On the spare mag in my pocket I added the +2 rd Ghost Extension and combined it with the +1 Mag-Guts follower for a capacity of 9 rds in that mag.

I can actually get all my fingers on the gun when I use the mag with the Ghost 2 rd extension.

While it does make the pistol a little bit larger (and some may ask 'what's the point in buying a small pocket pistol if you're just going to make it a bit bigger') it adds several rds in capacity and for me it's so friggin small to begin with that I still have no problem at all fitting this thing into a pocket even with the 2 rd extendo mag in place.

That option to cobble together some higher cap mags will probably be available soon for the G43.

With 300 rds through the cobbled together extended cap mags they've been completely reliable, but with the Mag-Gut followers they don't lock back into place on the last rd like stock Glock mags do.

Maybe for some, but my 22 Gen 4 w/ NS already on it from Glock was less than $500. I stopped in tonight again to see if they were still there and they hadn't sold any of the three they got in yet. I think they're just trying to catch the buyers who can't wait for the craze to slow on them, one of the guys said the 42 goes for $450, thought the 43 will eventually be down to $499 or so.

Either way I'm in no rush. I have a couple of small 9mms, PM9 is still my favorite and my Solo will probably be sold off when I find a 43 at a fair price. Oddly have had better luck with the Solo than the 938 I had, kept having issues with the MSH

Mine came in last tuesday. I ran about 100 rounds of lightly loaded 115 grain reloads through it. I tried limp wristing to the point that I was only barely holding on to it. It still functioned 100%. I cant say that it will replace my 26, but I believe that the shield will stay in the safe for a while.

Hickok45's review was very good

He is a long time fanboy and makes no secret of his love affair with glocks.
So I would take any review of his with a grain of salt.

True about Hickock and Glocks which is why I personally felt and was surprised he wasn't as enthusiastic as I thought he would be. He seemed to like the gun but was at a bit of a loss for its use as he seemed to feel it more belt gun and therefore opening lots more options for carry.

Side by side vs a G26, other then weight it's hard to justify. I may still own one but I am not as blown away as I had expected to be.

Well duhh... He doesn't go about bashing other guns he features in his videos does he? Perhaps why he holds true to his "drama free" channel.

got my glock 43 (GSSF price I think was around 430 out the door). Shot around 100 rounds through it. Wasnt sure if I was going to keep it or not so I shot the range's glock 43 first. I was able to shoot one large hole at 7 yards which I have never done in 800 rounds or so with my current single stack carry. Definitely like it.
