After not being able to find any info on the .243 RAR, I went ahead & bought one. All the magazines rave about the gun, but they all shot the 30-06. I got mine from Kentucky Gun Co. for $309, by far the best price I could find. Ordered it on Monday & it arrived at the store on Friday. When I took it out of the box, it felt like a toy gun. It's very light & the stock is very slender. I like how it feels and handles. The butt pad is very soft & should do a good job at absorbing shock, however it is rather sticky & I could see it getting caught on my coat when I bring it up. I'm not too thrilled with the trigger. It's supposed to be adjustable from 3 - 5 lbs. I couldn't get it any lower than 3 7/8 lbs. And it does have a fair amount of creep. The bolt works pretty well, but when I lock it down w/ a bullet, it's very tight. Perhaps a problem w/ my handloads. The bolt opens and the shells eject with no issues. I put a Burris Fullfield 2, 4.5-14 x 42 scope on it. As I did my usual, (shoot-clean-shoot-clean), break-in off a Caldwell Lead Sled, it didn't seem to be grouping too well. But then I tried shooting a group using Sierra 85 gr. BTHP. WOW! 092312123815.jpg One of the best groups I've ever shot, with any gun! That was 3 shots, then I shot the fourth one. I wish I hadn't. It hit almost 2 inches low. I'm thinking I probably forgot to pull the gun back against the Lead Sled, which we've found will affect accuracy. I stopped shooting it after that, but I can't wait to try it again. I got some Nosler 55 gr. BTs for it, & have some 95 gr. BTs to try, but if I can duplicate, or even come close to a group like that again, I'll be thrilled.
All in all, I would highly recommend this gun.

COngratulations on your purcahse. I was this close to buyng one also for coyote hunting but decided to keep my Ruger Hawkeye in 25-06. Ruger, IMO makes the best guns. The All American is so dirt cheap, it makes you wonder why you have to pay 2-3x more to get an equally reliable and accurate rifle. ENjoy it!

Neat. I am happy you have had such good luck with your new purchase.

If ONLY I could get a scope and mount for my 243, and if ONLY it would shoot half as good, I would be quite content with this project.
