I know SC's Henry McMasters has come-out courting as many gun manufacturers as he can lure here. Our legislators are completely on-board as well.

What is not being mentioned, in any of these latest revelations, are the number of new manufacturers in the works.

Also, the peripheral market, component producers of after-market and support products is huge. Not to mention the burgeoning 80% marketplace that is booming thanks to the negative press.

The gun industry and all of its supporting cast are realizing a massive growth phase right now with no end in sight.

BTW, FWIW, we already have a thread going on this located here (perhaps they might be merged): https://www.thehighroad.org/index.php?threads/17-gun-firms-flee-to-friendlier-states.899012/

The Washington Examiner reported the Gov's invite to the show show days before the Guns & Gadgets guy (who, btw, lives in the really anti-gun state of Massachusetts and he's not always friendly to Southern States efforts to remain free).

Anyways, from the previously posted article:

... escape by weapons makers to friendlier states such as South Carolina, Tennessee, and Texas.

At its upcoming SHOT Show, the biggest of its kind, NSSF plans to host supportive governors to let them talk up why gun companies should move.

So far, at least 17 gun firms have moved over the past few years, according to a new list compiled by NSSF. Moves often take jobs and hurt local economies.

During the January show in Las Vegas, NSSF Senior Vice President Lawrence G. Keane will host a forum for governors from nearly a dozen states to discuss the crackdown on the industry in other states.

“This is a unique opportunity to hear directly from several governors of the importance of the firearm industry to their state,” Keane said. “NSSF has hosted governors in previous shows, but we wanted to be able to give each of the governors an opportunity to talk about why they want to bring this growing and vibrant industry to their states.”
