I had picked up an XD9 Tactical (5" barrel) at the gun show Saturday. Shot it at the range Sunday for about 100 rounds using 115 gr. ammo, which as reported it wasn't all that accurate with. Tonight I used WWB 147 gr. ammo for the Tuedsday night shoot and it ran like a top. If anything the felt recoil was less and muzzle rise was easier to control, and it just seemed to cycle smoother.
It will take a few more runs to get used to the long trigger pull though, twice I thought something ws wrong with the gun because I simply had not pulled the trigger far enough. I normally shoot a BHP or Witness Elite Match in .40 so I'm used to a somewhat shorter trigger pull. Anyway, the XD9 was still a little faster due to the reduced recoil, and was plenty accurate enough.
