I have an Ithaca skb double bbl sxs that i'm going to sell and I want to be precise as possible in my ad.

pulling a tape from the chambers where the action breaks from the receiver is 26" to the end. so are they 26" bbls or are they 26" subtract 2 3/4" chambers?

Most accurate is to drop a tape measure down inside the barrrel until it touches the breach face. I'd say that what you have is right, you do not subtract for chambers.

Don't be surprised if you end up with odd measurements at times such as 26 1/2", 27 3/4" etc. Makers generally round off to the closest measurement in inches, 24,26,28, 30 etc. On European guns they make them in metric measuremnets and round off to the closest English measurement when sold here.

ATF barrel length measurement:

Close action, drop in a cleaning rod, wooden dowel rod, etc and mark rod where it exists the muzzle. Pull out rod and measure to the mark.
