Hi guys,
I'm not very active around here, I'm sorry. I just don't have a lot to add I guess. One of my shotguns is a cheap-o, smooth bore, pump action slug gun (with iron sights) made by Maverick. I can't imagine this thing being a tack-driver with slugs... Honestly, if it weren't for the fact that it was given to me by a good friend who is no longer with us, I would have dismantled it and cut it up for scrap! Instead, I'm going to get it back to reliable and use it to learn paint refinishing (Cerakote). I'll then use it primarily to fill my niche for oo buck practice. I love back country buck shot carnage until my shoulders are sore! Unfortunately, it likes to spit 1/2 the shells out of the magazine tube straight onto the ground. Probably becaues it seen a lot time being manually loaded and then unloaded via the interrupter. It appears the interrupter has become weak and is not adequately repositioning itself behind the shells in the tube. Would it be worth my time to tweak Cartridge Interrupter back by bending it (like tuning a 1911 extractor) or should I just order a new one and toss it? It doesn't appear to have a lot of wear, it's just not returning far enough after I cycle the action. I have no idea what it would cost since yet becaue I haven't called Mossberg but I would suspect it shouldn't be very expensive and it does have sentimental value. I just hate to throw away good money to find out later it could have been free.
Thanks!

That was my first inclination. I stripped it down completely and scrubbed/lubed it with G96 and a stiff nylon brush. It's definitely clean.
