Is the firearm, second from the left, a Browning A5?

Thanks.

Photo's not the clearest, but offhand I'd say it looks like an A5 light 20.

From left to right....

Stevens "Favorite" style S/S rifle, probably in 22 LR.

Probably an A5, possibly an 11 or 720. Going by the knob, a Browning.

Remington Centerfire autoloader.

Generic S/S, possibly H&R, Iver Johnson, or Stevens.

Savage/Stevens Model 24 combo, probably in 22LR/410.

6.5 Carcano

Mossberg 22 Semiauto.

H&R/NEF Topper 410.

Hey Dave, I think you missed the revolver!:)

All the best,
GB

Well, turns out it was a Reminton Model 11, serial number 785741. 12ga, 30". I picked it up and its in pretty good shape. My first semi-auto. Anyone have any idea when it was manufactured?

That is an Auto-5 clone gun. The fore-end looks too big and chunky for a Browning, so I'd guess it is a Remington Model 11.

EDIT: Posted as I was posting.

The revolver, can't say.

The mag on the rifle looks more like a Carcano to me than a Mosin.

Re the 11, in 12 gauge at least, some Browning parts like rings and springs interchange.

To find the born on date, call Remington at 1-900-243-9700 9-5 EST and give them the serial number.

Congrats. The 11 is a fine shotgun, well designed and made. ENjoy....

id say thats bad hack of a mosin.

notice the finger grooved stock, what looks the sling slot on the stock, but it may not be a sling slot at all, may just be the poor quality of the picture (camera phone?) . how ever, no carcano im aware of has sling slots. ( key word AWARE OF. i am no carcano expert) the magazine seems much more angled, and less round. indicating its a Mosin and not a carcano which has a much rounder apearance.

the rear leaf looks Mosin, but COULD be a Carcano M91 longrifle. i say Mosin. but we come back to the bolt handle. a M91 long rifle has a straight handle like a Mosin. we all know of the LARGE aftermarket for turned down mosin bolts, im unaware of turn down carcano bolts. possibility of a later 6.5 bolt in an early M91. i still vote Mosin

take it for what its worth.

I like that little Mossberg auto. I have a similar action, but takes a removable box mag, a M152. It sold by the millions and is an older one because it's got a wood fold down hand grip on the fore stock, a feature of those guns that I never figured out the "why for". :D The newer ones have a plastic fold down part on the stock. But, it's a decent shooter. I busted the receiver sight off it came with. Priced a replacement on the net recently, 65 bucks. Ouch. It wasn't that fancy, LOL. I have a scope on it, but would like to put the peep back on it. Gun ain't worth the price of the sight, though, LOL.

That gun to the right of the Remington M740/7400 Semi Auto centerfire looks like my old Iver Johnson single shot 16 gauge, almost identical looking, but it's hard to tell since they all looked similar from that era. Mine's marked "Hercules" on the receiver, a brand stamp for some hardware store, but it was built by Iver Johnson.
