I don't have a great knowledge on shotguns, so this might sound stupid.
I bought a Springfield 67h at a pawn shop for damn near nothing.
It has no spring in the (Is it called a magazine?) where the shells are stored and fed from.
Is this spring and the plug that must be on the end a fairly universal thing, or is it very gun specific?
Obviously, I'm looking to replace it.

Suggestions?
Thanks!

After looking at the list, I see the magazine spring. There must also be a part involved that goes onto the spring in contact with shell, is that what is called the plug, or is it called something different? Or is it not needed?

If possible, buy the spring that is recommended for the gun. If not, buy another similar spring. I can't believe there would be that much difference between one manufacturer's 12 gauge coil magazine spring and another manufacturer's 12 gauge coil magazine spring. A spring designed for a Remington 1100 should work well provided it is the same (or very similar) diameter.

As for the plug, ANYTHING will do. A wooden dowel, a pencil, a piece of plastic tubing, just about ANYTHING that will fit inside the magazine spring will work. Cut to desired length. Plugs are only needed for certain legal requirements such a hunting migratory waterfowl. Some states may require the plugs for all small game hunting, but most states do not require it. For home defense, no plugs are required.

EDITED: Oh, yes, that's called a "follower" as dfariswheel said. Sorry, I thought you were talking about a magazine limiter plug.
