TC shot cups
I have been fooling with a Navy Arms double, and got hard and soft wads packaged 100 each part # 287872#3.99 + 5.29. I also got some Thompson shot cups #287803 thinking that I might want to load non toxic shot. That lasted until I found $139.00 for 7#! I guess I'll stay with my Browning for waterfowl. All this from Midway USA. The consensus is that shot cups don't offer any particular advantage to normal black powder shotgunning. I did get some 1/2" prelubed in that above shipment,a nd plan to try and see what loads like the cards and what likes the fiber wads. I would be interested in what is appropriate for a patched ball load in a 12 ga. smooth bore. My barrels micro around .7 with the left barrel a little tighter than the right. The lightfield slugs I got to try are $6.99 for 10, so If they are reasonably accurate that's reasonable for a little bit of deer hunting at close range. Bill
