I have a Moss 500 Mariner with a Truglo electronic reflex sight; the rectal can be either red or green in dot, cross hair, or bulls eye. I really like the sight, very quick to aim and accurate but I am concerned about the fragility of it and the fact that it needs batteries. I always have it off and it seems like the batt life is pretty good though, still don't want to take a chance at it failing at the wrong time. I am wondering what other options may be good with that in mind, such as ghost ring sights with tritium front sight or save and upgrade to something like an Eotech. I would prefer something that I can mount on a picitany (sp) rail and works well with a Knoxx stock- I know I have a tacticool shotgun . It's important though that the sight works well both in the daytime and low light conditions.

I tried that same sight just 2 weeks ago. Sent it back, it's to hard to see and even worst in the daylight.

I mounted a light on mine. When I turn on the light there is enough light, that my bead sight works for me.

I have heard some that like the XS Big Dot, but you have to glue it on. I don't mind gluing it on, but I didn't like the idea of having to replace it, when it burns out or breaks.

Red rick are you talking about the ghost ring sight or the Metrolight one that Smitty linked to? BTW I also have a flashlight but still find the bead hard to see very well in the dark. I just don't shoot too well with a bead either, at last compared to the truglow eletronic sight that I mentioned earlier.

I hope I did this right; here are some pics of the gun I was talking about and the sight I am thinking of replacing. Sorry the pics are just cell phone ones, will try and get better ones later if need be.

I was talking about the metprolight sight.

If you don't like your bead, I don't think that your will like the metprolight, especially in the daylight.

I got mine from Midway. If you want to try it, they will take it back if you are not satisfied. You will just be out shipping cost.

The other thing is that if you look at the stock it has a piece added to it to make it easier to see through optics of some sort and it provides a better cheek weld. The thing that sucks though is you are looking well above the bead and it doesn’t do any good. If I went back to some kind of bead sight I would have to remove that adapter which won't be easy either I hear, haven't tried it though. I don't know if it will be an issue with GR sights or not, it seems like they are a little more raised up especially if it can go on the rail where the dot sight is now.
