I have a 12 GA Pump as a HD Shotgun BUT am concerned that due to my bad legs and feet, it might knock me way off balance or even over! My balance is very weak and I CAN'T afford a miss!
I bought a 20GA SxS to try instead.
Due to the ammo drought, I could only find 2 boxes of #3 Remington Buckshot. I had a few boxes of Phesant loads just in case, but wanted some sort of Buckshot.
Recoil with the 20 is low even with the Pheasant loads. The little double may be the ticket for me!
Any other disabled shooters with similar concerns?

if it works for you, that is all that really matters!

You can also get "reduced recoil" loads for the 12g as well that won't kick any more than the 20.

ZVP, I recommend using as light a load as possible within the confines of your home. I don't believe in the average home, that shots will be much beyond 10-15 yards and at that distance pheasant loads as well as dove and quail loads should suffice to knock any intruder off his keister.

The most important thing is that you can shoot it with confidence. You have found that in your 20 ga SxS, and your 3 buck ought to do the job it is intended for, should some fool try the wrong house.

As years go by, if you eventually want even less recoil, the 3" 5-pellet .410 00 buck loads are light on the shoulder and devastating on target. Until then, if that 20ga double does the job hang onto it! :)
