Should I buy an AK?

Lol at people panic buying. Better pay twice as much now before Obama makes guns illegal..... or not lol. Spend that money on christmas presents and don't listen to the chicken littles who most likely have an agenda.

Prices have gone up over one hundred dollars a rifle since the beginning of the
year at the LGS in my neck of the woods. With the results of Tuesday's election
and talk of a possible assault weapons ban again, I don't think AK prices are
going to be going down anytime soon. It's hard to find an AK for under $ 600.00
anywhere around here anymore.

Yeah. Spend your money on crappy electronics and clothing that will be worth nothing in a year.

By the way, who are these "chicken littles" and what is their "agenda"?

If you're going to buy a self-loading .308, you'd be better off with an AR-10 platform than an AK platform.

If you're particularly worried about impending or future bans, an AR-type gun will offer much more flexibility with regards to modifications and the like.

If cost of ammunition is at all an issue, I'd suggest skipping .308 and get a rifle chambered in .223.
