Should I buy the Dan Wesson VH8 .445 Super Magnum?

.357, I'm in Nassau. I' can't believe someplace like American Outdoor, Coliseum Gun Traders, or my favorite T&T Gunnery can't get the DW for you.

I'd think that since they all carry CZ's, a DW would be a no brainer. Have you checked these guys yet?

American Outdoor - supplier cannot get it. That store rocks, it is the only one with both the BFR and Desert Eagle on display.
On Target - checking with supplier, has yet to return my call.
Coliseum - not in stock, won't give me any info over the phone about ordering it, must come in person, great store, annoying policy...

As for Classic Firearms and T&T (everybody likes Stanley!) I was saving them for last as they have been the most helpful while shopping previously.

MBI/Michael Britt and his store under the bridge (literally) never has anything new, not sure I should even bother with him.

If all else fails I might put on a bulletproof vest and try Olinville Arms in the South Bronx... Their range is quite nice, never bought anything from them though.

Did I miss any place?

I'd consider selling mine, as I never use it anymore. I'm in MS. I have a bunch of brass, ammo, etc. I made brass from .303 British, as .445 just wasn't available at the time. Assuming you like/prefer the DW guns to say a Smith, Ruger, etc., the only drawback I can see is the SuperMag is a big, heavy gun (which is why I don't use it much). It's very accurate and lots of fun, though!

45critter, I am pretty set on purchasing a new unit, but post up some pics, maybe I will get enticed? Would you mind also throwing into the photos something for size reference?

Response from DW about ordering factory direct:
At this time all of our revolver orders are on hold. You can check back with us in about 6 months to purchase one then. I'm sorry for any inconvenience. Thank you for contacting Dan Wesson Firearms.
The quest continues...

Is that quote from DW recent? orders on hold? check back in SIX MONTHS? ***! :cuss:

I'd call CZ directly, they've got it on their website as a product for sale. Tell them you want it, ask for the wholesalers name who stocks it , and then go to Stan, and get the ball rolling! If he can, let me know, maybe he can get us a good price if I order one too.

I really want a DW 44, and have come very close to buying several off of auctions, and one of the local stores had a .445 that was in great shape, but had an insane price on it, about what a new one goes for, if you can find it. I slept through one of the auctions, and I could have grabbed up what looked like a very nice blued .44 6" for just under $400! I missed it by 15minutes. :fire:

Now I don't have any money to buy any toys...:(
