Ok, I have a Sig P210 in great shape and about 70% of the blueing it still on it. There is no rust what so ever but I am worred that it will rust were the bluing has rubbed off in s few spots. I took it in to a place that reblues and duricoats them. I was going to have it done in a "SIG GREY" whitch is supost to look like SIG's blueing. But when I left the shop a few guys followed me out and told me "Do NOT refinish that thing or the high price on it will drop!" So I went back in and told him I changed my mind and took it with me. Now I have to ask some people before I do it... should I?

Take normal care of it by keeping it wiped down with a oil dampened gun rag (T-shirt remnent) every once in a while. If you plan to carry it. Wipe it down once a day of each day you carry it.

I have several firearms that are in great need of rebluing. They will never see it. They are doing just fine without the reblue. Two of them I carry concealed...

I say do it - it's not like you have a priceless specimen that will lose value if you refinish...

Yeah but the SIG P210 is worth #3,000 or more. Any I saw one for $5,000 and it didnt look new like mine. And mine was one of the first ones made, I can tell be the S#

If you feel like you'll sell it someday, do not blue. If you'll be keeping it forever, blue it, because what does it matter what the market value is? In case of a loss, even if you've got it insured for replacement value, the insurer has no way of knowing that it's been re-blued.

If it is not a daily carry piece, don't refinish. If you're worried about rust, spray the internals with Rem Oil, and wipe the externals with oil or grease. Store it in a case with desiccant.

"...sorry but how do you start a poll..." Don't worry about that.
Sig 210's do command rediculous prices. 3 grand isn't unusual. 5 grand is though. Engraved models run close to 7 grand.
Personally, if you're that worried about it rusting(won't with oil), I'd sell it and buy something less worrisome. Or grease it well, vacuum seal it and quit using it. Wouldn't like it much though.
No Duracoat though.

Depends, are you keeping the gun forever? If so do what you want. If not then attempt to determine what will give you the best resell value, and go that way.
