Should i sell my Mini 14 20GB for a M1 Carbine

With all due respect to Roughneck. A .223 is equivalent to a .44 mag energy wise, out to about 150 yards or so. Shot placement is key no matter what you use.
 
If the Mini works well, I think you should keep it.
You won't get enough selling your Mini - CDNN has them now for around $600 new.
And if you like bayonets that's fine with me, but a hunting knife does just as well for finishing off a deer.
 
If you like to shoot a lot, keep the mini, especially if its a good shooter. .30 carbine ammo is quite a bit more expensive then .223-5.56. If you are going to go after an M1 make sure your getting an original GI carbine and not one of the crappy universals. IMO dumping the Mini for an M1 would be a downgrade.
