Dear Experts,

any suggestions for either a traditional leather or new fangled holster for my 6" heavy barrel revolver?

Only suggestion I have is, forget a shoulder holster and get a good hi-ride belt holster and good belt.

Shoulder holsters are the spawn of the devil when it comes to comfortable all-day carry.
I don't care who ya are.

Thanks. If I were seeking a comfortable all day carry shouldn't I buy a different gun?

Probably, but that isn't what you asked. :neener:

I carry a Colt Diamondback snubby comfortably all day, most days.

With the way I am able to usually dress, a D-frame Colt or K-frame Smith are the perfect balance.

YMMV

Finding a shoulder holster for a Colt's Officer's Model might be difficult, but one made for a Python/6" barrel will work.

Contact a fellow THR member, Robbt who specializes in holsters for vintage revolvers, and offers them at very attractive prices. He also might have some for the Colt Official Police model which would fit.
