Sierra GameChanger - New tipped hunting bullets

Hello everyone. First comment here. I just happen to live in Sedalia, Mo. and have several friends who work for Sierra. I plan on grabbing a few pounds of seconds for different calibers when they become available and I can get to the Sierra store. Don't discount the seconds, I shoot them all the time and with soft points only cull maybe 8-10 bullets from a pound on average. Also get sub MOA with them. Admittedly you will cull alot more with blitzkings and TMK from a pound but it's still cheaper. I assume that the game changer will not be different with the polymer tip issues they have. Before they banned tours I saw first hand how those bad boys are made. Interesting is an understatement.
From folks who work there I hear great reports of performance. The ballisticians praise them well for accuracy. Of course Sierra has always been known for accuracy. Can't really get comments on terminal performance out of them. I wanted to use different medium and a chronograph to do some penetration testing. I will let you know what I find out as soon as possible. Some real field testing on game would be welcome for sure but it may be a while before we see that. Thanks. Lots of wonderful info on here and iveI been an avid reader here for a while. Thanks to everyone who has contributed to my success.

Like with the original Ballistic Tips in the late ‘80’s, and the SST’s in early ‘00’s; most likely, the early consumers are the “Beta” testers.

I had failure to penetrate with the first Nosler BT’s, and failure to expand with early SST’s.

I’ve got a lifetime supply of most calibers, so I’ll let all of y’all do the beta on the GC’s. I’m sure come Jan-Feb ‘19, there’ll be praising and wailing!

You have a very valid rationale there GooseGestapo. They get a little quick to put stuff on the market before it's been field tested enough to be viable in any market.
The only reason I'm going to play with them is I can get them relatively cheap and I'm curious George. Sierra really hasn't set the world on fire with new bullet selections for some time. The blitzkings are awesome in my swift for dogs and yotes but that technology isn't really new to the bullet industry. I'm happy they're making something a little different and almost their own design. Could be they were waiting to see what everyone else did first and learn from their mistakes. Not very innovative but maybe smart in the market place these days. If it works and sells don't fix it and their bullets win matches alot and alot of critters give up the gohst to them every year. I'm in Sierra's corner and hope they do well. Hometown team and all.
