I have been trying to find the smallest space I need to fit a 95-grain .243 SMK into. I am trying to fit it into a 15.5mm space between case neck and the end of the cartridge.
Can anyone help me out? Will they fit?

Shorter than 2.045" is a JOKE

2.045" is the proper case length for a .243 Winchester. Hiding a bullet inside the case length makes no sense. Unless the primer power is the driving force, 2.500" C.O.L. represents the shortest viable cartridge in .243 Winchester. I have always recommended injecting some powder to help drive the bullet home. A 2.565" C.O.L. round can be made to conceal some amazing power, but less than that is merely playing games.

I never said I was using .243 Winchester.
I am not.

Yeah, it's a necked-up 5.56 NATO with a 42mm case.
You are right, using anything other than the full length of the .243W's OAL is dumb. Just wasted space.
I think I may have phrased my question wrong, I need the minimum length from the case mouth to the tip of the bullet, and I am hoping to get the SMK within 15.5mm.
Can it be done?

it might be possible, but it would be pushing that bullet pretty far into the case, with the .243 there is
.663" past the neck, with yours, only .606"... to fit in COAL that is. Rough estimates though.
:)
