I just got my Sig 220...I have 3 extra clips on the way and a Galco hoslter...on the way home I purchased a 100 round box of Winchester White box 230 grain target ammo...but now I need to make decision on carry ammo...any suggestions...

I carry Federal Hydra Shocks in mine (230g). Any of the premium ammo is good. You might want to get a 20 round box of several diffrent brands and see what your 220 likes.

I go with 230gr Golden Sabres in my 220ST.

However, I would carry any premium 230gr Hollow point and feel pretty comfortable.

I always find it interesting that .45 fans say the advantage of the round is that it doesn't rely on expansion - then buy expanding bullets. I shoot Federal American Eagle 230gr FMJ all the time. It seems a touch more accurate than most other brands, and always feed.

I feed mine 230gr Hydrashocks. They have been totally reliable feeding, and shoot to POA.

I've tried some other rounds in the past, and if I stray much below 200gr, then the POI is too far off from POA for my comfort.

FWIW, my 220 has succesfully fed and ejected everything I've ever shot in it.

230gr Federal Tactical +P
230gr Winchester Ranger +P
230gr Speer Gold Dot
185gr Taurus Hex Bullet
230gr Bonded Golden Sabre
165gr CorBon Pow'R'Ball

I would feel warm and cosy with any of these loads, I have the Federal Tacticals in my SIG 220.

FWIW, besides the above loads, the Hornady 230 gr +P JHP isn't stocked as often, but has worked well in the past for me.

The P220 is a pretty good pistol, congrats.
