Sig 220 shooting waaaay low

I have a Sig 220 I bought new.

When it's clean it shoot great but after a few rounds the gun start to hit really low. I'm talking about 3 feet low at 20 yards. This happens before I'm even through one box. Warm or cold and variety of ammo it has the same problem, seems to be related to fouling but I'm totally guessing.

I had another 220 and never had a problem.

Any ideas?

I had the same problem, I swapped out the upper half and it still did it. never figured it out and end up trading it.
 
My guess is you are jerking the snot out of the trigger. No, really, I'm not being a smart a__. Have someone else fire it and see what happens.

The fact that it happens after a few rounds could mean that you are starting to flinch in anticipation of the recoil.

That's my thought too. Have a better skilled shooter try it precisely when you start to have problems.

The gun should not be running that far out of spec after a few rounds. I routinely shoot 350 - 500 rounds through mine in a session with NO changes in accuracy.

I would guess flintching also if I read this.

I didn't have this problem with my other 220. I shoot competitively and haven't problems with any 1911 or other large bore handguns.

I'm gonna try it off a bench to make sure though. I really do think there is something fouling up.

It's a beautiful gun. Texas DPS trade-in. I bought it new unissued in the box with three 8 (not 7) round factory mags.
 
Just had my 220 out this weekend and can say I'm perplexed by your experience. I would also counsel you to have someone else shoot your 220. I does sound strange that rounds are nose diving after the barrel/action get dirty. I've never seen this as a cause for the effects you are seeing.

To definitely see if you are pulling the shot (though our experience level seems to rule it out), try benching the gun shooting with the dust cover resting on top of a platform. I'd be interested to know what the results would be.
