I happened upon a nice Sig 220 today, came with 3 barrels, 2 slides, many mags. Anyway, a field adoption took place and I'm now the proud owner of yet another stray :)

One of the barrels is threaded for a muzzle device and by pure luck my Octane 45 suppressor screwed right in, bonus :)

I'd like to have one of these slides milled for something like a Trijicon RMR which I'd use suppressed. I noticed Suarez offers to mill one which includes the base plate, screws and co-witness suppressor-height sights for $200. Seems reasonable but figured I'd run it by the experts at THR. Is there a better way to go?

Thanks.

This wasn't pure luck; this was an "adoption" that was meant to be!

Congrats on the new SIG P220 and all the extra goodies with it.

IMHO the suppressor sights are more trouble than they are worth, especially with a red dot, and the fact that you have a second slide you can use without the red dot -- where the suppressor sights might make most sense.

My days of shooting iron sights well are mostly in the past, but when I still could when I got my first can, I was presently surprised how the suppressor made pretty much no difference with my P220 SAO, even though it "blocked" the front sight. You focus on the front sight, the blur of the target seems to just blend in with the suppressor -- I'm sure the bright white insert in the front sight helped.
