A friend of mine has a 226 Tacops with htreaded barrel that he has offered to me. I like the gun, but do not like the "chunkyness" of the grip. The factory grips are the ones with the magwell made in to them.

Are there grip options out there that allow for a thinner grip on the gun? Do not care if it has the magwell or not, just want it to fit my hand better.

Also, the barrel is threaded with metric threads. Would it be better to swap the barrel to one with 1/2-28 or just get an adapter to go from metric to standard?

Any 226 grips will work if you match the appropriate mainspring seat. For thinner/smaller look at the E2 grips. You may or may not have the right mainspring setup but it's easily changed out for the E2 compatible one. Barrel? How much does it matter to you? If you want it to match other TB pistols you might want to buy a diffferent barrel. Me, I wouldn't care.
