Sig 229

Why am I lusting after a nitron 229 with no rail in .357 sig and .40?
I love my rail 226 and G19 but something about that 229 is just smooth... I might have to get one.

Get IT! SIG's affection is not to be toyed with! SIGs are happier in groups, preferably in groups of 12-100.

That and there have been some great deals on 229s recently (not by me, but allegedly by some other new owners. )

I know several members of SIGforum that prefer the non-railed models, so you aren't crazy...just addicted like the rest of us.

Sigs are lustful things...

I, too, dislike the rail. It isn't that the rail isn't useful, but it makes the gun blocky, like one of them glocks. Unless you intend on using the rail for a tactical light (and have no other suitable guns with rails to fulfill that niche in your armory), why have it?

The 229 is a handsome piece with or without the rail -- but without it, it is gorgeous.

My first Sig was a NIB P229 9mm with CT laser grips. I can't say enough good things about the perfect 2000 rounds I have fired with it..

Then when my Beretta Px4 40cal went on the brink (trigger sting) I got a P229 40cal, non railed, and it shoots softer, more balanced, recoil wise, than what I thought was with the Beretta. But if I closed my eyes I could not tell the difference between my 9mm 135gr JHP and my 40cal JHP 180gr as the Sig 40cal has far better accuracy (than my Px4)especially with quick follow-up shots, the same as my Sig 9mm..

Not to mention it is aprox: 1/2" shorter in length, and 1/4" less tall.. for better ccw, than my Px4.

My Sig P229 40cal set me free..

Thats it Im getting one. Less than two weeks and im going to order it. I saw them new for 629

I have 6 Sigs, 3 of them non-rail 229 models in .40. It's one fantastic weapon.

The 229 was the first handgun i ever bought, since then i have purchased several other makes and calibers, it is by far my favorite weapon in .357 and .40
