Hello All,

A few days ago I order a LEO trade-in Sig 2340 from Summit Gun Broker. The pistol arrived this afternoon. I have not been able to take to the range yet, but should have the chance to Saturday. For those who may be interested, I thought I would give some first impressions.

1. Blue plastic hardshell case marked "SigArms", 2 12 round mags, 2 sets of grips, and a lock for the hardshell case.

2. for a LEO trade, this gun shows very little holster wear. I would say slide finish is +90% (maybe better) I believe the slide is Nitron finish. Mark had said he would hand pick one for me.

3. The night sights would have to improve some in order to be non-existant. (really bad)

4. The pistol was in exteremely clean condition for a used gun. A little bit of carbon build-up on the slide. No build-up inside bore at all. I cleaned with Hoppes #9. Almost appeared that the pistol had been previously cleaned before shipping.

5. Extremely light DA/SA trigger. Maybe the lightest DA I have felt.

6. For those of you who have heard horror stories about field-stripping this gun...Do not believe it. Take down was snap. If you can field strip a CZ-75, you will have no problems at all. Took maybe a minute.

7. If this pistol shoots as good as it looks, its a winner. I will give a range report after firing, and will post some pics when my son brings my camera back next week.

Hope I did not bore you guys too much

Till later,

Gunner

It sounds like you have my pistol, with the exception of the sights(mine are about half gone). It's a great shooter, very accurate and very soft recoil. I also have the SP 2009 and love it just as much. I have no complaints.

I think you're gonna find it to be a very good gun,

We own 5 Sig P2022's in extended family

and we all love them .

Excellent triggers -

zero problems and they get shot a lot.

Trigger

DonDavis3,

Glad you brought up the trigger. MAN...The trigger is phenomenol. I have never felt one as smooth and light. I actually wondered if the police armorers had done trigger work on this pistol.

Is this light, smooth trigger inherant on all of these pistols? I don't know. This is my first experience with one. If they are all like this, then a whole lot of people have been missing out.

Maybe I just got lucky (which I might add, is rare) or, my gun has had trigger work, or these guns have some of the best the best triggers around.

@ Okiegunner

I doubt if your gun had or needed any trigger work.

I took my P2022 to my Sig Armour and ask about a trigger job..

He messed with it and told me that it didn't need one.

None of our 5 needed anything done to them at all.

Trigger

Dondavis3 or others,

Hate to sound stupid, but, What is it about the triggers on these things? This is a first for me, but you would think the info would be all over the gun forums.

Maybe it has been, I do not know (but if so, this light and smooth operation of trigger is very unique) In autoloaders, I own aTanfoglio Force Carry, CZ-75, MKEK Yavuz 16 (Beretta Clone, awsome gun) and Sig 2340.

I have never experienced a smoother , or lighter trigger. Maybe mine had some custom work from the arnorer. I do not know. Anyhow...Just my 2 cents.

For shooting, I personly prefer a 9mm. However , I will order the .357sig barrel for this pistol. Dor Sig 2340 barrel change is all that is needed.

Anyhow, Thanks all
