Does any one have an opinion, experience or thoughts. Want it to swap with my 228 as a ccw gun

I have the p245 and the 228 as well as a number of other carry pistols in 9mm and .45. I like the p245 as my primary carry .45. For me the 228's grip is just a bit too fat. I just compared my two pistols and the 245 is about the same length as the 228, about a half inch shorter in the grip and the grip circumference is moderately thinner than the 228 (being a single stack as opposed to the 228's double stack). Of course the downside is that the 245's capacity is 6+1 of .45 while the 228 takes 15 round mags of 9mm. I always carry an extra mag for my 245. So they are both great guns but I like the 245 better for carry.

For what it's worth my favorite 9mm double stack carry pistol is an old SW 6904 with 12+1 of 9mm.

Thank you. I think im gonna buy one. A friend has one with neww night sites and 10 mags. Some are extended

He wants around 650? Is that around fair price

I had one and it was a good gun. Accurate and reliable. I actually shot it better than my P220's.

Is $650 for a p245 with new night sights and 10 mags a good deal? If you figure out the costs of the new night sights (around $80 plus installation) and the 8 extra mags (figure $30/mag) that puts the base price at about $330. Considering I bought mine about 4 years ago for $550 gently used with two mags and no night sights you are getting a great deal. If you check on Gunbroker they usually sell for somewhere in the $500-600 range. Good luck.

You know as time has passed handgun evolution from single shot to a gazillion in every magazine. Where does it end? It used to be a shooter depended on accuracy and skill; not on how many rounds they could spray all over prior to reloading.
I feel that a person should pick a weapon with decent capacity and then focus on training. Six+1 or Seven+1 should be enough prior to reload. Then have a spare mag on hand.
Makes it easier to carry and conceal too.

Mine wouldn't run 50 rounds without a jam. I dumped it at a huge loss. I can't recommend it.
