Is the Gray Guns action job worth the big difference in price and what do they do that the SIG Custom shop does not ?

"Gray Guns Action Cleanup Perfection – $250

Our factory-reset package will perfect your pistol for duty and carry use with the absolute best results in mind. Our gunsmiths detail, fit and polish every bearing surface to yield the smoothest DA and SA pulls available. The DA pull weight is optimized for carry and law enforcement duty applications while retaining 100% reliability with defensive-grade ammunition, and the SA pull is set at approx 4-4.5lb."

"SIG Custom Shop Action Job $169.95.

Action Enhancement Package – Our factory gunsmiths hone and polish critical surfaces to lighten and smooth both the double-action and single-action trigger pulls taking your SIG SAUER to the next level without voiding the factory warranty. Improvements are not as pronounced in our DAK trigger system and not generally recommended for DAK's).

Hope to hear from people who actually had the work done on SIG`s at either shop.

I sent one of mine in to Sig to have it done. It was my P220. I had three times in the first 5,000 rounds that I couldn't completely rule out user error in a competition where it went click instead of bang that were fixed by a tap rack. I suspect it was my fault but couldn't proove it. So, I sent it in to Sig. I was very happy with the results and I've had 5,000 plus rounds now without any failure to fire. Personally, I'd send it to Sig. Often if you bundle it with other work such as getting springs changed out, etc, they will give you a discount on the overall work.

Not sure where you live, but Robert Burke in the Dallas area does very nice work. I can't recommend him enough.

Sig Action job

I just picked up a Sig P226 with a Grey Gun's action job, hitting the range tonight so I'll let you know what my thoughts are after I shoot it. On a different note, I have sent 2 of my other Sig's (P220 & P228) to Sig for some work which I've been very pleased with.

Sig action jobs

I just got back from the Range, the Sig P226 with Grey Guns action clean up shot beautifully. I took it and my Beretta 92sb tonight and posted below are pic's of my targets, 50 rounds at 10 yards. Now the trigger on the Beretta is not the smoothest but its also not the worst. The Sig's trigger is very smooth, especially when I compare it to my P228 (no action work at all). Now I'm not sure if I would spend the $250 when you can have Sig do it for less, but the action and trigger pull on my P226 is the smoothest I've ever shot.
