I just bought my GSR 2 days ago, and today I go to the shop where I bought it and they have the Kimber 25th annivesary Gold Match.
What a nice looking and feeling pistol. It doent have the series II safety either. I sure wish I had seen that before I bought the GSR.
Anyone else seen or own the new Kimber Gold Match Anniverary model?

Why on earth would you even think about getting that cross-bred abomination known as the GSR? :D

Do what I do; find some extra time, get a part time job and get the Kimber. Then again, my ambitions have always been lofty. Change the entire social structure of the world and own one of every mass-produced firearm ever made. ;)

...very next day I saw this totally cherry Mercury Sable...

Merc Sable?! MERC SABLE?!!

Oh man, those are GOLD. You lost on that one.

wow i can't believe u passed on the merc sable.... I have a ford taurus and its a dream to drive. Handles as smooth as any other sports car

I hope this thread isn't drifting into a Taurus bashing thread.

I happen to have a 03 Taurus SEL that i like quite a bit.

I like the look of the GRS but 4 the price i think it should come with adj. sites and a better trigger pull. There is also the fact that it is built on a caspian frame so you could build one for a lot less.

I say go Kimber, you will get more for the $$$.

Ditto on the Taurus. I had a '91 SHO that we cranked 225K on before we traded it off. 28 MPG and could go like the proverbial bat out of hell. The 3.0L Yamaha would just scream!

Now we have a Chrysler LHS. :( Reliable but absolutely no personality.

When I bought my Toyota Supra Turbo the very next day I saw this totally cherry Mercury Sable

Tell me you're being facetious. A Sable?????????? :barf:

I was sorry I had a Taurus rental a couple years ago. It ain't fun driving back down Mt. Adams (highest road in N. America) when you can't manually select second gear on the tranny. That ain't to mention poor handling, lousy acceleration and spongy brakes. Interior by Rubbermaid; same with the Exterior styling.

Divine Providence steered you toward that Toyota and away from the Merc.

Keeping it on topic, I don't have strong feelings either way about Kimber or SIG 1911s. I'd probably go with the SIG.

Please post a range report on the GSR whenever you may get the chance.

BTW, I prefer the Sable. It doesn't have the "world famous Taurus security system"! :neener:

I don't know...it's popular to bash Kimber these days, but the 25th anniversary models look pretty nice to me. And they don't have that trendy accessory rail either.

yotehunter, I would of done the same thing. You made a wise choice, friend. You probably wanted one for a while, now you've got one.
