Sig P series pistol sight question

Can anyone here tell me if the sights on Sig P series pistols are transferable?

Specifically, I have a 1998 "MADE IN GERMANY" P226 and need to know if sights from a P220 will fit. The P220s are #8 sights front and rear.

It should per Sig USA. If still worried about it, call Sig. They are pretty helpful over the phone. Std. Sig sights fit my P6 aka p225 for the American version.

"To determine the current size of your pistol sights, look at the small number on the horizontally aligned bar on either side of the sight post. That number should be available on both your front and rear sight. If you have determined that you are satisfied with your current pistol sights, simply select the exact same number combination from the X-RAY1 product line.

In general, the higher the front size number (i.e. 6), the lower the height of the sight. For the rear sight, the higher the number(i.e. 8), the higher the height of the sight."

Thanks for the reply.

In the inerim, I bought the sites on ebay. I think they'll work.

$15.50 for one #8 front sight and two #8 rear sights. Decent enough price. Not great but not bad either.

If they aren't a good fit, I'll give them to someone here.
