I am jonesing for a SIG and perhaps something in .45. To those of you who own or owned the P220 carry model, what were your impressions of the gun? What variation do you have? I am looking at the plain TDA model with the contrast sights and the external extractor fwiw.

Thanks

My P220 is the most accurate handgun I own short of my Ruger MkII .22 standard. I do not use it for CCW though because where I live in Alaska the real dangerous game is 4 footers, then I carry a Glock with 10mm loads. If you can live with being under-magged with only 7-8 rounds compared to the homies with their unlimited ammo hi-cap mags then go for it, owning a Sig is like wearing a Breitling watch, its not as fancy as a Rolex but is sturdy and ultimately usually more reliable.

I have a new P220 with 150 rds thru it so far.

Very accurate, feels great in hand and reliable.

Impressive handgun. :)

Get the night sights, they are worth paying a bit more.

I've got a West German Sig P220. Circa 1989. It is the BEST 45acp I have ever shot. Smooth and accurate right out of the box. Probably one of the most dependable and reliable weapons on the planet. Especially in the semi-auto world. I've never had to do one modification to it. I've hat it for quite a long time, and I still have the original sights, grips, and trigger. You don't have to change a Sig P220 at all. In the cooler months when I'm wearing a jacket or such, I carry the P220 exclusively. In the warmer months, it can be a bit challenging to carry concealed. But it definitely can be done. Many of us do it.

I have an early P220 Carry with the internal extractor. Its basically a stock gun with night sights and has your basic DA trigger.

Never had any issues with it and it shoots just like my other P220's.
