Friends, I just purchased a mint condition sig sauer p220-1 pistol in .45 at an estate sale. It sat in a safe since it was purchased back in 1992. It cames with all of the original receipts. I took it our for a shoot and it worked great until about round 75 where I experienced some jamming from one of the clips. I think that these are the original factory clips. They look allot like the old design. can someone recommend some reliable clips, or know of a resource for factory clips without costing an arm and a leg? I hear of a brand called ACT-MAG? Are these any good? Also, regarding such an old pistol that had been unfired for so long, could I may be experiencing just some break-in activity that may not be clip related.

I'd put fresh springs in the magazines before you go investing in new mags. Did you clean and lube the gun before you took it shooting?? Sigs like to run a little wet.

I hate to be the one to do this, but seeing how it's a HUGE pet peeve of mine...

Also, since the other clip..errrr I mean magazine works, and they were sitting for so long, and unused, then it's just a matter of cleaning them with some kind of dry lubricant, such as EEZOZ, and my BIG bet is that both mags and gun will run, and as 1Blindref said so correctly, they like to run, slide and guides, a little on the wet side with oil.
But you don't want oil, in the interior magazine walls or the spring, but using some kind of dry lubricant that drys, and bonds to metal, like EEZOX, and it puts a dry film, on all the walls, and the spring, making for "slippery", friction-free movements without attracting dust, dirt, and most likely, gun powder residue. It will not harm plastic, and helps the plastic movement as well.

I too, think that an aplication of Eezox to the mags and springs will be just
what the doc would order; to make your SIG run just fine~!

Sounds like a good cleaning is in order for both the gun and magazines. Remember SIGs like to run wet. Just for piece of mind wouldn't hurt to replace the recoil and mag springs.
As for magazines, SIG factory, Mec-Gar (which are SIG factory), and ACT magazines will all treat you well. The only weak point on the ACT magazines are the base pad but all in all that is just me nit picking, they are great mags for a great price.
