is the kool-aid so strong that you can't respect the OP's original intent and question?

I guess you did not see the following statement by the OP in Post #19: "anyone out there who has owned a glock 21 for a while??? hows the reliability? durability? accuracy? etc. etc. if people have nothing but good things to say about the G21 it may take the cake at 600 bucks... "

The OP was asking about Glocks in this thread also. Is there a reason why you think I should not have commented on Glocks since he was asking about them???

Instead of being snide and making derogatory comments, I encourage you to read the threads more thoroughly before disparaging other people's comments. Perhaps you can avoid a faux pas like this in the future.

i acknowledge my error

i didn't realize that you were commenting on the post 6 above yours. your sentence structure appeared to to be directed at the Sig rather than just offering information...i appear to have been mistaken

As for Sig and HK; you're choosing among 2 of the best handguns ever available. While I also like S&W, Springer, Colt, etc...; they aren't a Sig or HK. When choosing between these two, choose the one that you "LIKE" the best. Either one is a great choice. Other guns have legitimate negatives to them. Most times, these negatives can be overlooked because of it's positives; including price. Sig and HK don't really have negatives. When a person doesn't like those 2 guns, it's usually because of the price. However, some will say they don't like the feel of them. But if you're looking at either of these two, then don't even worry about quality, reliability, dependability, etc... These are 2 of the very best.

OP, I suggest you try an H&K45. Big fan, they have the same grip as the P30's, holy egos. Adjustable back straps and side panels, ambi-controls. Also as with the USP, many action types. I have a P30 v2 LEM, its one constant trigger pull, not DA/SA, kinda like sigs DAK but a lot of people say better. Not to sure about the glock in 45, I have a g19 and like my P30 WAY better if that helps at all. Well good luck with your dilemma, let us know what you choose

Both are good pistols and I guess it would come down to what one you feel comfortable with. I like the P220 because I like steel frames, but I love my USP and my M&P too.

You are correct, unless your lucky enough to have one of the older imports. I've been trying to talk my friend out of that for years. I had a guy come into the shop, he paid $800 NEW, because it had a scratch on the frame. I blasted it with light pressure and off he went. Still can't believe he paid only 800.

Jumping into this late (not sure if the OP made the purchase yet). But I own a USP .45, a P220 Combat and a Glock 21SF.

I enjoy shooting all three guns but if it came down to picking one, I'd go with the USP. Reliability, durability, longevity, whatever you wanna call it isn't going to be a factor with any of these brands. They'll probably last beyond your lifetime, your childrens' lifetimes and their children. You're choosing between manual of arms, fit with your hand size, and maybe a bit of aesthetics thrown in for good measure.

Pros for the USP: Softest recoil, multiple options for manual of arms
Cons for the USP: Proprietary rail, aggressive grip checkering

Pros for the P220: Best balance due to a metal frame, smoothest trigger from the factory
Cons for the P220: Slide stop/release lever is in an unconventional location, decocker is unconventional

Pros for the Glock: Slide finish is best in the business, industry standard rail for every version out there
Cons for the Glock: Mushy trigger, love-it-or-hate-it grip angle

Someone above mentioned the M&P. I have this in .45 also and I'd put this as a very, very close #2 behind my USP, but I have the Apex hard sear installed so it's not exactly box stock.
