This is the first centerfire SIG that I ever had. Bought it from a member in Flowood a few years back.
It had been a LEO duty sidearm that had been refinished in a high tech black coating.
Previous owner claimed it had several THOUSAND rounds down the pipe, & could stand another refinish.
This pistol was still accurate.
I decided to treat it to a different refinish.
I stripped the pistol, scuffed up the existing coating & sprayed it a silver duracoat. The slide got blued.
I need to get schooled on painting things. The duracoat turned out not so durable. I assembled the pistol after two weeks of curing & the finish still flaked off.
The walnut grips help to keep the viewer's eyes from the surface defects of the paint.
I shot some WWB & some Tula. Pistol did not seem to care what it ate.
Darn thing STILL shoots one hole groups! :)
No wonder SIG's are in such high demand!

I have a "Made in W. Germany" Sig P220. It will shoot groups like these you posted at 50 yards. I bought it as a police trade in too. It had lots of holster wear but not a lot of rounds through it the best I could tell. I've put at least 15,000 rounds through it and it still works great. I did have to put a new recoil spring in it after about 14,000 rounds or so but it went back to working like it did when I first got it. It only failed to feed a few times before I replaced that spring. It probably should have been replaced at 7000 rounds. It's a heck of an accurate pistol even if the barrel flip is a little much. Those high axis Sigs are all like that though. But that pistol is as solid as a rock and more durable. I'll have that one until my son inherits it.
