hey all i am currently looking at the sig p226 combat. i have always wanted a sig and recently looked into the p229 line but after reading up on the p226 combat i am leaning heavily towards it. i really love the tan/black coloration along with all the bonus features the regular p226/p229 line doesn't have. can anyone tell me how well they handle, if they have had any problems or how tough/durable the finish on them is. if im going to pay around a thousand for a handgun i gotta make sure im getting one that isnt all looks and no function.

Because there are lower priced P226's available, the pricier models (on a gun that is already pricey) aren't big sellers.
That said, I am thinking about selling my W German P226 and use the funds to buy a P226 Combat pistol. Like you, I think it looks SWEET.

That right there would be a mistake.
They don't make SIG's anymore like those old German guns.
If you want pretty, have yours refinished by Robar or someone, and put nice wood grips on it.
