Well now that suppressors are finally legal in our great state. I am on the hunt for one. I ordered a factory Sig threaded barrel, (9mm). I hear great things about the SWR Trident 9, seems to be fairly priced. Although I am finding it difficult so early to get a dealer to get their hands on one.

But before I pull the trigger, what are your input, people that have more experience with the suppressor market, and/or the Sig 226.

Thanks!

I've used my Trident-9 on a p225. It ran wonderfully, and was very quiet. I've read some tests that say the P226 is the quietest of 9mm handguns to suppress. The trident is also one of the quietest suppressor. The versatility of the can is great too. I use the LCD device on handgun, then switch to a 3-lug for my 9mm AR15.

You can get the barrel extended and threaded by someone like Tornado, but carbon tends to accumulate in the extension and messes with the crown. Sig makes factory barrels that are threaded and will drop right in. On my p225 I had a p226 barrel modified to fit a p225.

What has to be done to rig up a regular-barreled Sig P226 to accept the suppressor? New barrel perhaps?
Yes a new barrel is easiest, and Sig make certain threaded barrels for their pistols.

Here is the page for ordering directly from Sig, although they are currently OOS on the 9mm Threaded P226 barrel :(

Here is another supplier of the factory barrels and they claim guaranteed in stock availability on the P226...
