I must admit I am not very fluent in the value or worth of sigs. I have the opportunity to pick up a 97 kiel stamped German sig p232 and will have approximately $450 in it after the trade. Is that a good value for it? I know the 232 is discontinued and it’s a rather large and heavy gun for a 380. This example
Has no box, one mag, nice leather holster which unfortunately has also left it with a little finish wear near the front of the slide on the sharper edges.

What do you say, go for it or pass?

Go for it if in descent shape it will be a true collector item they are not the lightest 380 on the market but they are one of the top shooting 380s

Thats a fair price for a clean blued example, a stainless SL is worth a bit more even.

Factory mags are hard to come by- thats about my only reservation with them. They are fine pistols.

In my opinion the P230/232 models are well worth having in one's collection as an example of classic styling, design, fine quality manufacturing and excellent reliability. The price sounds ok but not great. There were a lot of these made. I'd be tempted to wait for a complete set up with both mags and complete case goodies.

These are nice to shoot. Easy to handle and they point very naturally. There are several grips available. I've always considered the blued model to be quite light weight, at about 18 ounces, compared to other similar brands. Enjoy if you decide to purchase.

I've been carrying a P230 quite often since 1995. It's gone through several different sets of grips but for true pocket carry I pretty much settled on the Hogue smooth Rosewood grips.

Fully loaded with 7+1 it weighs 560g, still less than some of my older snub nosed revolvers.

As others have noted a very well built and finished pistol. Price seems fair enough. Think of it as being kind of like the Rolex of medium size frame .380s!

I think that the SIG 232 base model with the aluminum frame is the best all around .380ACP pistol. It is too bulky for pocket carry, I know because I tried and replaced it with a WALTHER PPK, which was just as heavy, but more compact in height and length. I liked it so much, I bought a second one. I have also shot the SIG 230 in .380ACP and 9m.m. Police/Ultra. The 232 alloy frame is my favorite for its light weight and very well shaped grips. They are ergonomic and fit me very well, so I have not replaced them.
I do not like the fingergrip style stocks on the other models.
Overall, I find the accuracy, smooth trigger, excellent decocker and sights (mine has night sights), ease of disassembly and overall quality make it the best .380ACP pistol for holster carry or home or car defense.
I now carry a GLOCK 42 for pocket carry as it much less bulky than the SIG.
