I recently bought a sig P238 and I love it but I don't like the 8 pound single action trigger pull. I'd love to get this down to around 4 pounds or so.

I've been told that replacing the hammer spring(?) with a wolff reduced power 20# spring will help out. Will the wolff springs for a colt mustang work in the SIg P238? Its a copy of the mustang but sig has made some changes.

If that spring will fit, will it make any noticeable difference?

If it is worthwhile then how hard is the replacement? I've watched some videos and they make it seem as easy as drifting out the pin for the mainspring housing and dropping in the new spring.

Anything else I can do to lighten the trigger pull? Any good gunsmiths out there that work on mustangs/p238s and don't have a 6 month backlog of work?

My P238 started life with an 8 pound trigger pull. I reduced it to 5 pounds by straightening the leaf springs (attached to the MSH). The springs should be straight, except for the tab at the end of the left leaf.

It's a half-hur job. Search Youtube for "P238 disassembly"; it's a bit tricky.

PM me if you need more information.
