I have a SIG P938 subcompact 9mm that is single action only, and basically notably similar to a 1911 design.

It is a GREAT carry gun, with its small size, light weight, and insanely good accuracy. But, I could shoot it even more accurately if the trigger pull were lighter: it comes from the factory with about an 8 lb pull, probably for product liability reasons.

I do NOT want a "light trigger", which I would define as 3 or 3.5 lb, but rather I want a safe 4 to 4.5 or even 5 lb trigger.

I've been told that the P938 design is so similar to a Colt Mustang that the hammer spring from the Mustang will swap right into the P938. Apaprently, that 20 lb Mustang hammer spring will lower the trigger pull on the P938 to something as low as 5 lb. The spring is inexpensive (about $4 plus shipping), so I ordered one.

However, I have had no luck finding any instructions anywhere on line on how to make the swap, nor even how to disassemble the P938 to the extent necessary to make the swap.

There appears to be a pin holding the backstrap in place, and it seems that the hammer spring is located inside that backstrap area, but I am reluctant to "experiment" on a nice gun and possibly disassemble things that I won't know how to reassemble.

Can anyone provide any step-by-step guidance?

If it helps, I'm told the P938 is also very similar to the SIG P238 380 caliber pistol.

Yes, I posted the question there earlier, but did not get a reply beyond "chnage the hammer spring". :)
