a local shop is selling sig P5 ( P225) for 335-359 agency trade ins ( they do not specify what agency ) comes with holster and 2 8 rd mags. Is this good ?

What is the big appeal to sigs anyway? I have held a few never shot one. I am more of a glock fan, but I know they are popuplar with LE and i do like the feel of the grip

Is buying an Agency trade in gun running the risk of buying a used up shot out gun, like buying a car with 200K

( Any one who says just pay the 900 and get a new one, if I could afford to spend that on a gun, i doubt it would be on a sig, )

That's a bit high. You can get them for around $250.

As Zak said, lots of info posted as of late on these. A search for "P6" should get you what you're after.

that's a little too overpriced, the market is flooded with these used p6 from germany, a lot of them are dated back to the 80s

like Thernlund said, it can be had for between $250 and $300

just remember that these guns are old, single stack, and mags for them are $60-80 each!

i'd say save up another 200 and buy a new, better, higher capacity gun, the sig pro sp2022 9mm can be had new for less than 500

but if you really like them, don't let us stop you!

CDNN is currently selling what is probably the last of the really excellent / like new P6's for $339.99 with one mag and the box.

Regardless, these German police SIGS saw very little actual range time, if any.
The worser ones show varying degrees of holster wear, but even those haven't been shot enough to really break them in, or wear them out.

I think they are one of the best values on the surplus gun market right now. (Were it not for the finding cheap magazines issue)

Fortunately, I got mine with two mags back in February, and bought some more while they were still available.

Just saw a really nice one yesterday for 299.99. Two mags plus holster. Store they have sold several with no complaints.

Nice gun, carried a lot, shot little.

Seems like a cheap way to get into Sigs.

The P6 is a great value. I picked one up about a year ago now. It's been a great gun, 100% reliable, accurate gun. Most shooters don't get what all the fuss is about a SIG untill they shoot one. A P6 is a cheap way to get into the SIG Sauer fanclub. BTW mags can be purchesed directly from SIG for $40 or Pro Mag for $30.
