Ordered one - here next week. Wanted to get actual users impressions of the firearm. I have a Sig 556 SWAT so I'm familiar with the platform. Plan on using it for a range shooter and HD (hope that never happens). Specifically interested in shoot-ability (with brace and without) and honestly, utility.

Will probably convert it to an SBR so that adds additional flexibility.

Thanks for the help.

Had one. It was fun. I used a single point Magpul sling.

It wasn't terribly practical. The bottom line is that if you plan to SBR the thing, it'll be great. Otherwise, it isn't that practical past 100 yards because it is difficult to keep stable and to produce quick follow up hits is difficult. Full auto would be real cool, but a pipe dream.

I realized I didn't want to register a gun, so SBRing it was out for me as there were better options. I never did get the brace, so that might make it better.

I traded it away after 6 months for a S&W 686+ three inch Talo edition, a Ruger SP101 in 22 lr, and 300 rounds of CCI mini mags.

I recommend you pick up an optic with a much larger objective. You need short BUIS to cowitness with the factory optic if you add aftermarket BUIS, or a riser for the red dot. I also added the Troy rail assembly. It's a nice addition.

I hope you enjoy it more than I did. The novelty really wore off fast for me. I'm gonna go with a CX4 for short range carbine work.

I'd love a pistol version of the 556xi with a brace! It would be great to be able to switch back and forth from .300 Blackout to 5.56 easily and have an almost-SBR without any forms or stamps.:D
