@Doublehelix
Doublehelix, you carry a P938 don't you? Any words of wisdom?
I found the version with the Hogue rubber grip the most pleasant in the hand, but the "Extreme" felt pretty good too with the aluminum grips.
Sorry, been out of town and just seeing this thread.
Yeah, I love my P938, and have carried it every day for 3+ years. I see all the hoopla with the P365, and as much as I think it is probably a great gun, I see no reason to switch from the P938. It has been 100% reliable (I had the Main Spring Housing replaced as @drbrand mentions right after I got it due to the reports of issues with the old style MSH).
I amaze people when I shoot my little gun! It is way more accurate than it should be for such a small gun.
I was recently at a range with a 6-plate rack with a couple of buddies. They were knocking down plates OK, several misses, several hits, etc.
I walked up to the line (11 yards), and BAM! 6 shots, 6 plates, 3.5 seconds. After they got their jaws back up off the ground, all they wanted to talk about was my small P938. Both of them shot it and fell in love with it as well.
I do love my rubber Hogue grips, but I have never tried the Extreme grips. I have no reason to switch, so I have not tried anything else. I carry it in a Stealthgear Onyx OWB holster at about 4:30 or 5:00 or so, and it just disappears. I keep her loaded with 147 gr. Federal HST +P rounds, and test them every month or two, and have had zero failures with that load.
I trust my life and the life of my loved ones with this gun, and that is the best recommendation I can give anything.
It is an SAO gun, and it takes down in a similar way to a 1911, although not exactly. All of my pistols are SAO except for one (HK VP9), so I am used to that setup, and the thumb safety gets clicked automatically as a part of my draw.
Any specific questions? I cannot recommend it highly enough. It is really a GREAT gun that I can't foresee replacing anytime soon.
