Sig Polymer vs Glock

Awhile back I purchased a police trade Sig 2340. Mark at SGB hand picked one for me, it is really a very nice pistol. Super sweet trigger. Feeds and fires everything I can find to shoot. I can not make it fail to feed or fire.

I see that there are a lot of Glock gen 2 and gen 3, Glock 22 police trades on the market. Not really looking for another .40, as I own 3 already. However, I do not own a Glock and these are very reasonably priced.

In your opinion, what are the merits and differences between the Sig 2340 and a Glock 22. I have heard that in .40 the Glock chamber is not fully supported, whereas the Sig is. When I bought the Sig, this was one of the determining factors (though to be honest I am not sure if this is true or not)

I am not a big Glock fan, but the unsupported chamber bit is blown out of proportion IMO. Millions, if not billions of .40 rounds have been fired through Glocks without kabooming. The Sig will most definitely have a nicer trigger, either one should be totally reliable.

I've had lots of glocks and sigs.
1.Glocks are a little easier to maintain.
2.Sig's to me shoot better.
3. Sig's are a little safer. That long DA trigger pull makes it harder to shoot yourself!
4.Glocks have better corrosion resistance.
5.Glock mags are better in my experience. Cheaper, longer lasting springs and they don't rust.

All things being equal for rural carry I'd pick the Glock. For city carry I'd go Sig. For range use who cares? Pick what you like! Do note though that you should not use reloads or lead bullets in Glocks. At least the .40 and .45 cal ones. A lot of people will say that you can use reloads in them. Personally l like using all my fingers.

Sig slides are stainless. So I'm guessing your talking about the mags?

I like my metal Sig just fine, but it doesn't do anything my plastic Glock doesn't do, except look better. If I were buying plastic anyway Glock is my 1st choice.

I was late to the Glock party as well. Swore I'd never own one, but found a deal on a used one that was too good to pass on and decided to see what the Glock was all about. Kept my Sig 226 and four 1911's , but eventually sold everything else and the Glocks have just kept multiplying.

Yes I'm mainly referring to sig mags rusting. My black stainless 229 never rusted but the mags sure did! Older K-kote or blued sigs do rust easily though.

I have a little experience with both. I recently bought a Sig SP2022 in .40 but have only put a couple hundred rounds through it so far. My brother had a G22 and I shot it quiet a bit. I never saw the Glock malfunction once, out of a few thousand rounds. It was plenty accurate too.
The Sig, I've had no issues with, but haven't really shot it enough to declare it perfect so far. I do LOVE the single action trigger on the SIG though. So far, I'm pleased with my choice to go with a Sig over the Glock when it was time for me to buy.

Try out a Glock 22 yourself at a local rental and see how you like it. I have a Glock 19 and while it is a fine pistol is collects dust since buying my Sig SP2022 9MM and my Walther PPQ.

As much as I am NOT a fan of Glocks, I'd have to say Glock > polymer Sigs anyday.

Glock .40sw chamber support is blown out of proportion. Regardless, it's been improved on later versions. I'll take Glock over a poly Sig any day. But, nothing in .40sw in any brand.

I'd take a SP2022 over the G19 but I'd take the G19 over the P250.
