I have just had a "continued" failure of the P938 (9mm) using "Pierce FMJ" rounds. It does Not happen with any other ammo. The primer will "blow off" a piece, into the firing pin hole in the bolt/slide.
A small piece of the primer will be in the firing pin hole (obviously round). Of course, a malfunction then occurs on next rounds(which loads in chamber fine).
Has anyone experienced this condition? :banghead:
Thanks, Oneeye

Sig Sauer P938 ammo Failure

I don't have this month's issue: Did it say for the Sig Sauer P938 only or other firearms ??
Thx,

Sorry, it was the February issue and was specific to the 938. They made a really big deal out of it (which it is) because the problem was really hard to diagnose and was dicovered after lots of speculative investigation. Gun Tests ended up giving the Siggie an 'F' rating. That hurts because I have one!

If it only happens with that particular ammo, I'd suspect the ammo first. I haven't had that happen with my 938 with a number of different factory loads including handloads using CCI SP primers.

Sig Suaer P938 9mm Ammo failure

Gents Thanks for inputs. I have over 600 rounds through mine without ANY difficulty. This Must be a ammo, not gun problem. Will, of course keep eye open for any more reports. :)
If you ever Liked a 1911, you will love this gun!

Thanks for the update. I feel more confident in the 938 now. IF ammo becomes more available at a reasonable cost, I'll wring it out.
