Has anyone had any luck moving the rear sights on their lc9s? I need to slightly drift them to the right. Today I made the attempt with a sight pusher that worked on an early Kahr, which is no small feat. When that didn't work I took out the clamps, hammer and Brass punches. No movement and no damage, though the left side of the rear sight now has a custom brass coating.

Any experience?

Forgive me for asking, but you did loosen the set screw right?

Mine were really tight front and back. It really took a big hit to move them. I put the slide in a vice padded with a T shirt and used a brass punch and was able to move them both. My front sight was not quite centered when I got it so I fixed that and then sighted it in with the rear.

Yep, but I've made worse mistakes than that.

I was able to center the front sight. And I wasn't holding back on the rear. Tried backing it out too.

Maybe need a heavier hammer.

I had the same thought!^^^^^

I removed and installed new sights on my son’s LC9sPro using a hammer and brass/aluminum drift punches. Soak it with penetrating oil and use a big enough hammer. You must secure the slide in a real vise or this method will not work. (Or take it to a competent gunsmith)

Haven't tried. Mine shoots fine out to 50yds.

Considering what it's made for and what distances I normally practice (25yds and under) at it's fine as I got it out of the box.

I dripped some hoppes 9 in the set screw hole to remove any residue from the thread locker, and its sitting over night with penetrating oil. I will give it another go with the sight pusher tomorrow.

My boss completely mangled the rear sight on his LC9s... and still couldn't get it to budge. He asked me to look at it to see if I could figure anything out. I VERY carefully sawed the sight in half with a hacksaw stopping before I left a mark in the slide. He already had the replacement sight ordered before he asked me to look at it.

I had a simular problem with a S&W Shield.
