I've had a RIA full size 1911 for some time, and just picked up the compact model (CS). I had never noticed any problem on the FS being able to pick out the sights but on the CS, they really seem hard to find in certain lower light. Don't know if it's the shorter sight radius or what. Would just painting the sights work ok, or are there any other different sights that would work w/o a lot of work/money? No carry worries or competition use, just occasional, recreational shooting. By the way, the CS shot perfectly right out of the box, no hiccups at all. Luv the thing! Thanks. Greg

If you've got the model with the a dovetail front sight, Take a look at the Dawson Precision or Novak's fiber optic front sights -- should cure the issue.

Paint usually can help, its easy to try but unless there is a "dot" drilled in the sight, the paint usually needs to be replaced fairly often.
