Mife wife has been shooting pistols for about 3yrs now and carries 24/7,but has never been interested in long guns.
the only rifle she would ever shoot was my 982 vs 22 mag and that had to be off a solid rest.shes had several back surguries and has limited hand/arm strength she asked me to find here something bigger than 22 cal. light short ect.
I picked her up a high point 9mm carbine.Well I have to say Im impressed for what it is! she likes my ar but cant stabalize it,but she has no problems with the carbine.I sighted it in with the crude iron sites and was really supprised.Large hole at 25 yds,1.75 at 75yds,3.0" at 100yds from a good bench rest.
I dont know if we just got a good one or if they all shoot like this, but for 200.00 dollars its just plain fun to shoot.
I would not hesitate to use it on coyotes to a hundred yds.
weve ran about 500 of my hand loads through it and have yet to have a failure of any kind, and she Loves the ugly little thing.
She been shooting a hanging 6x11 steel plate off hand at 45 yds and has no problem hitting it 9 out of 10 times.
she wont even let me put it in the safe,It resides under the bed on her side.(no kids)at home anymore.

the old stock IS ugly. the newer "tacticool" stock is less ugly. I've seen a few aftermarkets that dress it up fairly nice though.. It MAY be my next rifle, if I cannot get a sub2k soon.

Really wish they would produce the 45ACP version, however an email to them this past weekend got a "no date yet" response...

After shooting the nine, ugly or not when the 45 hits the shelves It will be my next plinker.

I must say I was a big opponent to these rifles before I had the chance to shoot one. I just couldn't see why people would own one. Then I shot a friends and was hooked. Not the prettiest girl in the world but boy does she know how to cook. Even if only a range rifle it is a blast to shoot. I have always wanted a 9mm AR but this gets me most of the way there without the budget.

Being I reload its cheaper to shoot than my Ar or 22 mag.I have a range in the back yard so She doesnt have to leave the place to shoot.
Ive had a few new shooters try it out and within 10 minuets or so each was able to get on target, the gals were all grins. If Im not carefull the wife will have a female gun club going at the house and Ill be reloading full time.lol.

I have the same carbine in the .40s&w version, got it taken apart and, uh, that's where it's stayed for awhile. I think my next buy will be its pistol mate so they can share mags and I can switch out as I get nearer that evil pie plate!

iblong, you're a lucky guy to have a wife into guns. I guess that makes her lucky too!

The ATI stock is pretty nice for the hi-point. Makes it look a lot like the CX4 storm and costs around $50 shipped on ebay. I have been thinking about getting a hi-point carbine 9mm and putting the ATI stock on
