Okay, first off, let me say that I've done pretty much all of my rifle shooting with mil-surps (SKS, Mosin M44 and M38, K31). So, I've only had experience with notch-and-post style sights. I also tried to search for any threads that had reference to sighting in ghost rings and came up empty. That said...

I recently bought a used Marlin 336. I did so with the intentions of placing XS Sights ghost ring and "scout" mount on it. The mount arrived before the ghost ring. It's already on the rifle. Now, I should be getting the ghost ring set today and I realized that I have no idea how to go about zeroing this type of sight much less a scope. I've had good luck with my mil-surps thus far in that none of them have needed adjusting (at least as far as my paltry abilities have shown...). And I've never scoped any of them.

Would someone who has used this or a similar system be willing to give me a good method for sighting these in? I'd appreciate any help I can get.

Thanks,
Barrett

Zero at the same distance you normally would. Look through the ring, put the post on the target, shoot. Don't try to center the post in the ring, the ring should disappear and your brain should automatically center it.

You'll have to be more specific if you're still confused.
