Sighting in an LCP with a Crimson Trace

I am just getting a Crimson Trace laser for my LCP. It says that the CTs are sighted in at 50yds from the factory. I think I need to adjust it. What would be an appropriate range to sight it in? I'm thinking about 20ft max. Any suggestions?

just leave it as it is -- it's not a target pistol, after all

i didn't have to adjust my crimson trace when i installed on my lcp -- i didn't get too picky about installing the gun in a vice for perfect sighting-in, but it's "close enough" for practical purposes from 3 yards out to the 15 yard max of the indoor range i was at.

i think you'll find it'll work just fine as-is from the factory.

FWIW:

My LCP did not come with the CT Laser, I purchased it shortly after I purchased the pistol..

After putting the Laser on I found it to be shooting high/left at 5 or so yards.

It was a simple adjustment, windage and elevation to get it perfect..

I actually wound up zeroing in my CT Laser at THREE yards as that's the personal self defense range I use with my mouseguns. (7 yards for my larger caliber pistols).

I'm thinking a zero at 3 yards is still pretty much zero at any other reasonable self defense distance.

FWIW, I'm very pleased with the LCP and the CT Laser.

I sighted my Crimson Trace on my P3AT at ten yards. It shoots com from 3 yards to fifteen. May keep tight farther out just never shot the sucker that far.

I like mine sighted in around 25 to 30 yards. This will normally prevent you seeing the dot at normal defensive practice ranges, 7 to 10, it will be a little low. You want to be accustom to using the guns iron sights so you want be spending precious seconds looking for a dot in the event of an encounter when the battery happens to be dead or the laser has lint or something built up on it. That way you will still be able to make a accurate shot at distances to far for conventional sights but you still learn to rely on the irons.
