I have an LCP on order, and am considering a Crimson Trace for it. I have a CT for my 642 and have grown to like it on BUG/ close-up carry gun. My concern is that the LCP has such a short grip that the little I give up for the CT will just be too much. Does anyone have actual hands-on experience with this laser grip on this little pistol?

Thanks,

Steve

crimson trace

I have an LCP without a laser and the other night I shot a friends crimson trace lcp and I gotta say it was pretty cool.

And I have also believed that lasers were kind of dorky, believing in using sights and good technique but the lcp doesn't really have a sight system and with the laser I was consistantly hitting head shots at around 10 feet and that is pretty good for that gun and me.

I don't know, might have to get one.

The older you get the more you will like a crimson trace to help your eye sight. :) I have one on my LCP and it works great.

Here is mine:

And with the laser on (thanks to the wonders of scotch tape):

Even with the laser attached it still easily fits into my Uncle Mike's pocket holster.

I don't know if it's worth the cost to put one on my LCP. I mean it's a back-up/pocket gun. Is a laser going to make any difference, really? I highly doubt it...

Besides, it looks like the activation pad would make holding an already small gun with a 2-finger grip that much harder.

I don't own any lasergrips, but if I did it would be for my Ultra Carry II. However, I still don't think a laser should ever replace a good set of night sights. I guess I can see how it might be useful for training purposes since it easily lets you see how steady your aim is.

Also, I notice that some people who like them say it's because their eyes are going bad. If you can't see your target with regular sights, how is a tiny red dot going to help you? Maybe laser eye surgery is what you really need!

If lasergrips were under $150 then they might be worth buying. But the price they are charging for them is completely insane! You can buy a very nice gun for the cost of two sets of lasergrips...

Dude, most old people can see far away just fine.

They loose their close up vision. It isn't that they can't see the target, but that they cannot see the sights on their weapon.

Far away is clear as always. So a laser can really help the gray hairs.

Up close is a blurry mess. Thats why oldies put glasses on to read.

Ah, that makes a little more sense. I can see how that would be a serious advantage for those who can't see their sights very well.

Maybe when I'm older and my eyes get worse I'll change my mind about lasers, but for now I'll just use my sights.
