I have sighted in my CZ 527 in .223 with a Leupold VX-R scope.

First we sighted in at 40 yards. Since I want a 200 yard zero it should be dead on at around 40.

We slowly walked it in with 8 shots using PMC .223 55 grain.
Then we had fun shooting that for a while. Then we decided to try all the different ammo I had brought with me.

PMC .223 55 grain
Hornady Superformance Varmint 35 grain
Hornady Superformance Target 75 grain
PMC X-TAC 62 grain 5.56 NATO
Blackhills Match 69 grain

With me, my Dad, Brother, Uncle and first Cousin we all took turns shooting. Everything shot at least an inch. We didn't clean it during the entire 48 rounds.

Here are some photos of a few targets.

We mounted the scope, no bore sighting, just slowly walking it in there.

Ignore the high shot, we had been shooting at 100 yards to make a smiley face with 55 grain, then we switched ammo and I shot at the "7".

Good shooting. It's light recoil rifle perfect for coyotes. Are you planning to hunt with it?

I will use it for varmints, coyotes, antelope, and white tail.

We just got back, it is dark, loaded up some 55 gr Hornady A-Max. We free floated the barrel, haven't re- sealed the wood yet. Neck sized, once shot Pmc brass.

100 yards, 3/8" group. Not bad with the first load we picked in the book.

Nice shooting with the CZ. My new to me Tikka 223 likes the PMC 55 grain bullets also. Just need to get some reloads worked up now to see what it likes.

This is a 3 shot group at 100 yards using sand bags off the hood of the truck.

sirgilligan: Sounds like you have a fine rig. I have been shooting a CZ 527 Varminter in 223 cal, for several years and it will shoot and inch or less with about everything I have tried. But the 52 gr BTHP MATCH bullets from Speer, Serria, and Honaday along with Hornadays 52 gr A-MAX bullets with 21grs of IMR 4198 shoot a 1/2 inch or less. I shoot Coyotes, PD`s and Ground Hogs mostly and I like my rifle more every time I shoot it. CZ`s are just great rifles. Good Luck To You;

I have a CZ-527 Varmint with a 6-18X40 Nikon scope with Millet rings.I haven't found a load it doesn't like but it really likes Nosler 55gr Varmigeddon bullets and AA-2460 powder. This is my "go to" load for small varmints.

Enjoy your CZ.

Maybe I missed it but it this the 527 carbine or the full size rifle? I have been jonesing for the carbine in .223 for a long time.
